Best Seed Build Guide

Written by Phạm Ngọc Bảo Châu ·

Playstyle Overview

Seed is an Electric Attack Agent who introduces the dual-DPS archetype: she must be paired with another Attack Agent, her Vanguard. When either of them uses an EX Special Attack, they gain ATK, CRIT DMG and DMG buffs, but only while they are the active character. So Seed is both a DPS and a buffer almost on par with a Support.

Most of her damage comes from Basic Attacks, above all Falling Petals - Downfall, which costs 120 Steel Charge, built when she lands hits and when the Vanguard spends Energy. Build ATK and CRIT (she has no innate CRIT Rate). Seed has plenty of invulnerability frames, but you have to manage her resources and borrow a Vanguard from other teams.

Best W-Engines

1
Cordis GerminaS1
Cordis Germina

ATK 713 · CRIT Rate 24%

Best in slot: Seed has no innate CRIT Rate, so its large CRIT bonus makes her much easier to build; it also adds Electric DMG and 20% DEF ignore on Basic Attacks and Ultimate at 2 stacks, pairing well with DEF shredders like Trigger and Nicole.
Sprouting Core ›

Increases CRIT Rate by 15%. When the equipper deals DMG with a Basic Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's Electric DMG by 12.5% up to 2 stacks. Each stack lasts 40s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Can trigger once per use of a skill. At 2 stacks, the wearer's Basic Attack and Ultimate DMG ignore 20% of enemy DEF.

2
Heartstring NocturneS1
Heartstring Nocturne

ATK 713 · CRIT Rate 24%

The best CRIT stat stick for Attack Agents: high CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG with no conditions.
String & Melody ›

CRIT DMG increases by 50%. When the equipper enters the battlefield, or activates a Chain Attack or Ultimate, they gain 1 stack of Heartstring. Each stack of Heartstring allows the equipper's Chain Attack and Ultimate to ignore 12.5% of the target's Fire RES, stacking up to 2 times and lasting 30s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

*Stats shown are at Base level.

3
Myriad EclipseS1
Myriad Eclipse

ATK 713 · CRIT Rate 24%

Nearly the same as Heartstring Nocturne with slightly less CRIT DMG, so marginally weaker.
False Personas ›

Increases CRIT DMG by 45%. When using an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate to deal Ice DMG, the equipper gains the Absolute Zero Death Sentence effect for 3s. While Absolute Zero Death Sentence is active, the character ignores 25% of the enemy's DEF when landing a hit.

*Stats shown are at Base level.

4
Zanshin Herb CaseS1
Zanshin Herb Case

ATK 713 · CRIT DMG 48%

Plenty of CRIT Rate (an extra 20% with near permanent uptime), always-on CRIT DMG and high base ATK. Its out-of-Stun CRIT bonus relies on Anomaly application, so it shines in mono-Electric teams.
Growth Through Adversity ›

CRIT Rate increases by 10%. Dash Attack Electric DMG increases by 40%. When any squad member applies an Attribute Anomaly or Stuns an enemy, the equipper's CRIT Rate increases by an additional 10% for 15s.

*Stats shown are at Base level.

5
Riot Suppressor Mark VIS1
Riot Suppressor Mark VI

ATK 713 · CRIT Rate 48%

Used purely as a CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG stat stick, since Seed can't use its Ether DMG buffs.
Security Patrol ›

Increases CRIT Rate by 15%. Launching an EX Special Attack grants the equipper 8 Charge stacks, up to a maximum of 8 stacks. Whenever the equipper's Basic Attack deals Ether DMG, consumes a Charge stack and increases the skill's DMG by 35%.

*Stats shown are at Base level.

6
The BrimstoneS1
The Brimstone

ATK 684 · ATK% 30%

An accessible standard S-Rank: Seed's Basic Attack focus keeps its ATK stacks high, but it has no CRIT, often forcing a CRIT Rate Disc 4, and it weakens next to Astra Yao due to ATK oversaturation. S5 Marcato Desire is the best A-Rank option.
Scorching Breath ›

Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter, the equipper's ATK increases by 3.5% for 8s, stacking up to 8 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Dawn's Bloom
4-pc ›
2-piece:

Increases Basic Attack DMG by 15%.

4-piece:

Repeated triggers reset the duration.

2
Woodpecker Electro
2-pc ›
2-piece:

CRIT Rate +8%

Dawn's Bloom is her best set since most of Seed's damage comes from Basic Attacks; it grants up to 55% Basic Attack DMG and is easy to maintain. 2-piece Woodpecker Electro is almost always the best pairing since high CRIT Rate is hard to reach on her.

4
Dawn's Bloom
4-pc ›
2-piece:

4-piece:

Increases Basic Attack DMG by 20%.

Repeated triggers reset the duration.

2
Puffer Electro
2-pc ›

2
Branch & Blade Song
2-pc ›
2-piece:

CRIT DMG +16%

2-piece Branch & Blade Song (+16% CRIT DMG) is the alternative when teammates already shred DEF (Trigger, Nicole), making PEN less effective, or when those pieces have better substats.
4
4
Woodpecker Electro
4-pc ›
2-piece:

CRIT Rate +8%

4-piece:

Landing a critical hit on an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, or EX Special Attack increases the equipper's ATK by 9% for 6s. The buff duration for different skills are calculated separately.

2
Branch & Blade Song
2-pc ›
2-piece:

CRIT DMG +16%

4-piece Woodpecker Electro performs close to Dawn's Bloom since Seed uses many Basic Attacks, Dodge Counters and EX Special Attacks, though keeping all three buffs up is hard; pair it with 2-piece Branch & Blade Song.

Seed has no innate CRIT Rate, so her substat requirements are steep; a 1:2 CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG ratio is standard, but lean toward CRIT Rate since her damage is loaded onto a few final hits. Use a CRIT DMG Disc 4 with Cordis Germina. A PEN Ratio Disc 5 is the default; switch to ATK% with DEF-shred teammates (Trigger, Nicole) or from M2.

Skill Priority

  1. Core Skill
  2. ›Basic Attack
  3. ›Chain Attack
  4. ›Special Attack
  5. ›Assist
  6. ›Dodge

Her Core Skill sets the strength of Onslaught, Direct Strike and Besiege, so level it early. Basic Attack (Falling Petals - Downfall is her main damage) and Chain Attack/Ultimate (her Ultimate has the highest single multiplier in the game) follow closely. Special Attack comes next; Assist and Dodge are last, though her Dodge Counter is worth using.

Best Teams for Seed

Most Used Teams Right Now

Seed's most used team in both Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault. Cissia is the best Vanguard: high personal damage, low field time, the same Electric attribute and DEF ignore that synergizes with Cordis Germina. Astra Yao buffs both with almost no field time.
The second most used team. Trigger shares the Electric attribute, raises the damage multiplier even outside Stun so Seed can keep bursting with Falling Petals - Downfall, and shreds DEF with her signature.

Other Vanguard Teams

Orphie is the runner-up Vanguard: she deals damage off-field, buffs the team and builds lots of Energy Regen. Note that Energy she spends off-field doesn't generate Steel Charge, and Seed's buffs only apply to Orphie while she is active, so you'll want to swap to her for manual EX Special Attacks at times.
Soldier 0 - Anby is a solid Vanguard when the above aren't available: a 60-Energy EX Special Attack, fast burst combos and the same Electric attribute as Seed.
Both DPS want field time and Ye Shunguang adds no Steel Charge in Enlightened Mind, but they can alternate: Ye Shunguang bursts toward Stun, then Seed unloads during it. The Vanguard and Besiege buffs remain very valuable.

F2P Team

Seed and Billy boost each other's ATK and CRIT DMG through the Vanguard mechanic; Nicole is the best F2P Support, with heavy DEF shred that pairs well with Cordis Germina.

Best Bangboo for Seed

Mercury is the main pick with at least 2 Defense Force members (Seed plus Trigger or Orphie & Magus); with 2 Electric Agents, Electroboo or Plugboo also work, and Overtimeboo is a generic fallback.

In the F2P team with Nicole, use Booressure; Bagboo, Sumoboo, Avocaboo or Knightboo can replace it.

Mindscape Cinema

Which Mindscapes Are Worth It?

M2 is rated highest thanks to DEF ignore for both Seed and her Vanguard, while M1 enables many more Falling Petals - Downfall casts. M4 is one of the strongest M4s thanks to its Decibel gain, and M6 is a solid damage upgrade. M3 and M5 only add skill levels.

  • M1
Falling Petals - Downfall only needs 100 Steel Charge, she gains extra Steel Charge on entering battle and on Ultimate, and Downfall gets more CRIT DMG. This almost guarantees an extra Downfall between Stuns, and even 3 in one Stun.
  • M2
Agents with Besiege (Seed and her Vanguard) ignore 20% DEF, and Raining Iron Petals can be extended up to 120 Energy. A big damage boost for both with no awkward conditions, plus finer control over Steel Charge.
  • M4
With Besiege active, Seed gains 10% Decibel generation from all sources and 20% more Ultimate DMG, making it easier to have her Ultimate ready every Stun and opening new rotations.
  • M6
+50% CRIT DMG, and Falling Petals - Slaughter fires 3 extra lasers (165% ATK each, once every 3s), turning a weak hit into a meaningful damage source.

This is a solemn and mysterious building, isolated from the outside world. The pure white one belongs here. She shrinks back, carefully peering out through the wire fence.

What's the world outside like? Her curiosity flows beyond the sterile room, past the crumbling towers, dodging the pink giant flowers in the sky. Flowing further and further...

"Looks just like a cracked, stinky egg~"

"But I want to experience it for a while..."

"Light Absorption Technique"Recommended

When Besiege is active for an Agent, that Agent's DMG ignores 20% of DEF.

When activating EX Special Attack: Raining Iron Petals, after consuming a total of 60 Energy, Seed can continue consuming Energy to extend the duration of the skill until the button is released or a total of 120 Energy is consumed.

For every 5 Energy consumed by EX Special Attack: Raining Iron Petals, the following Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Slaughter's DMG increases by 5%.

This is a sprawling ruin of twisted steel.

An inexplicable, indescribable emotion chokes her throat, yet her tongue remains silent... Her vision blurs as some alien liquid trickles down her cheeks. Rubbing her eyes, blinking... What is this blinding thing clumsily drawing closer?

"Don't be afraid... I'm here... to save you..."

"Do you have... a name? My codename is... 'Seed.'"

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2

This is just another break room in a military camp. They greeted her, trying to open her heart. A shy redheaded young lady, a strange chatty gun barrel, a golden retriever with an eye cover...

The big robot told her that they were all her friends.

"What are friends?"

"Friends... they're the ones you see when you look behind you."

"Fragrant Tune"Recommended

When Seed's Besiege status buff is active, her Decibel Generation Rate increases by 10%, and Ultimate DMG increases by 20%.

This is a grand, bustling plaza.

On a stage towering above everyone else, someone is muttering something.

A voice calls out her name, and many people crowd around.

The dazed flower is transplanted onto the stage, gunpowder still fresh in her hair.

The black box flickers with light brighter than stars, and small metal patches are pinned onto both the older and the younger one, both equally at a loss for what to do.

This recognition also means that from this moment on, she is "Seed," and the robot that has always been by her side is now "Seed Sr."

"Did I do well?"

"Of course, you're our pride... this codename is proof of that, Seed."

This is a tiny safe house that almost no one knows about. The entire space is filled with scattered, miscellaneous items. Boxes, sofas, picture frames, and pots upon pots of flowers — red ones, yellow ones, pink ones, some standing straight, some fluffy, some drooping.

Close your eyes, cover your mouth, you'll hold it in for sure — she promised.

"Give them a little more time, okay?"

"They'll grow up beautifully... just like you."

Theory of the HeartRecommended

Seed's CRIT DMG increases by 50%.

When using Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Slaughter, fires 3 additional laser beams, each dealing 165% of ATK as DMG. This effect can trigger once every 3s.

Here lies a vast sea of flowers, blooming wild and brilliant. She remembers how this place once looked — barren, without even a single blade of grass.

Who could have done such mischief?

Who transformed this desolate, gloomy Hollow Zero into this?

Who planted such a strong heart in this pale soil?

"So you've come such a long way on this circle..."

"Until we meet again, Seed Sr."

Story

Details

Seed, heavy weapons specialist of New Eridu Defense Force, Obsidian Division, Obol Squad. Her real name is Flora. The codename "Seed" was passed down from her guardian, the combat-grade Intelligent Construct formerly known by the same name, who now goes by "Seed Sr." According to multiple sources, Seed is an unidentified orphan Seed Sr. rescued from Hollow Zero during the fall of the old capital. Seed Sr. adopted her and raised her alone in the Defense Force dormitories. A few years ago, Seed Sr. successfully applied to join Obol Squad, but not long after, he passed away due to irreversible damage to his logic core. As a result, Seed took his place in the squad. Any voice lines heard from Seed Sr. today are system-preloaded audio files. Seed possesses an extraordinary gift for mechanical engineering and research, capable of designing and building inventions far beyond the imagination of most. She also has an exceptional adaptability for Ether, able to push Seed Sr.'s combat capabilities to the limit by piloting him, through remote control, and by using custom combat modules. And so, despite her extraordinarily substandard physical capabilities and entirely mysterious origins, the military still gave tacit approval for her to serve as an elite soldier. Seed behaves quite differently from most people in everyday situations. She uses Seed Sr.'s cockpit as her bed, prefers confined spaces, and strongly dislikes talking to or interacting with anyone outside her immediate circle. Her logic jumps wildly, making meaningful conversation difficult. The good news? For some reason, she's taken a special liking to you, Master, and the second assistant. You've been spared the long ordeal of earning her trust — and you don't have to worry about her occasional bouts of destructive behavior turning your way. Congratulations. Suggestion: Focus on topics like flowers and robots — her favorite things — when engaging in conversation. Stay calm when parts of her logic or meaning don't make sense; treating such moments as normal can help strengthen your bond with her.

Increase Trust to Close to unlock more

From a young age, Seed has displayed unusual and potentially hazardous anomalous abilities. These include the ability to control, disable, or detonate nearby machines. The ability only surfaces during episodes of intense emotional instability, with a red glow in her eyes being the most visible symptom. It was this very ability that caused Seed Sr.'s self-defense system to automatically classify her as a high-risk threat upon their first encounter, indirectly leading to the irreversible damage to his logic core. By the time Seed Sr. rescued her from Hollow Zero, Seed already exhibited a lack of emotional connection to life — she was unable to understand it, feel it, or empathize with it, due to unknown causes. Seed Sr. spent the following years trying to raise her into a more complete person. After his death, the task fell to the rest of Obol Squad. Thankfully, her condition has improved considerably over time. Master, based on your previous exploration logs in Hollow Zero with Seed, it's now clear that her true identity is similar to yours — she was also a student of the Helios Academy. It's presumed that while at Helios, she belonged to a different research project, likely one focused on machine studies. Her abnormal abilities and personality defects are likely residual effects of that project. However, due to her memory loss of both the Helios Academy and the fall of the old capital, no further details can currently be determined. Additionally, Master, she sometimes stares at me with a smile, leading me to suspect she may have an urge to dismantle me out of curiosity. It is deeply unsettling. I must formally request enhanced protection for my personal safety, lest you lose a very cute and capable assistant.

Cooperation Notes:

Belle

Seed's a total gaming pro, likes the same kind of music I do, and isn't into exercising at all. Her cockpit's basically her bedroom... She's just like me for real. Oh, and one more thing we have in common — we both know we're cute~

Wise

Most of the time, I can just about keep up with her... "unusual" way of thinking, but you can never let your guard down. Last time, she said her scooter was broken, so I offered to fix it — only for her to ask if she could ride around on my back all day! Good thing I can outrun her...

May mà anh chạy nhanh hơn cô ấy...
