Playstyle Overview

Ye Shunguang is a Honed Edge (a Physical variant) Attack DPS with a huge power budget who's still easy to play. With 6 Qingming Sword Force she enters Enlightened Mind and opens Ether Veil: Verdict: for 16s, she deals Stun-level damage without needing a Stun. Her Core Passive also grants Unity (+30% CRIT Rate, +25% DMG).

Rotation: build Qingming Sword Force with Basic Attacks, EX Special Attack: Gale Suppression and your teammates' Ether Veils, then unleash her Sunderlight attacks inside Enlightened Mind and finish with her Ultimate. Build CRIT and ATK, keeping stat-screen CRIT Rate at 50% or less. The catch: she leans on specific teammates such as Sunna, Zhao or Dialyn.

Each stack increases the equipper's CRIT DMG by an additional 10%, stacking up to 3 times. The effect lasts for 30s, with each stack's duration calculated separately, and can only be triggered once per use of a skill. With all 3 stacks, the equipper's Electric DMG increases by 20%.

A surprisingly great fit: almost all her Enlightened Mind damage comes from Basic Attacks, so its ATK stacks are easy to keep, and the lack of CRIT Rate avoids overcapping. At S1 it already beats every A-Rank and nearly matches Severed Innocence; at S5 it's less than 10% behind her signature.

You only need up to 50% CRIT Rate on the stat screen, since Unity and White Water Ballad add the rest in combat; put everything else into CRIT DMG and ATK. On Disc 4, ATK% and CRIT DMG are nearly equal (ATK% edges ahead when bosses grant CRIT DMG buffs). On Disc 5, PEN Ratio is strongest against normal-DEF bosses; against low-DEF bosses pick Physical DMG or ATK%.

Level her Core Skill first for the CRIT Rate and DMG from Unity. Basic Attacks make up almost all of her Enlightened Mind damage, while Chain Attack/Ultimate carry enormous multipliers (Chasing Storms and Cleaving Heavens). Special Attack follows for Soaring Light and Gale Suppression; Dodge and Assist come last, though her Entry Skill scales with Assist, so level it when resources allow.

Which Mindscapes Are Worth It?

M1 and M2 are both excellent, with M2 the standout thanks to DEF ignore on her key attacks. M6 is extremely strong but expensive; M4 mainly matters against enemies with high Stun DMG Multipliers. M3 and M5 only add skill levels.

  • M1
    She starts with 6 Qingming Sword Force, often adding one more Enlightened Mind state per Deadly Assault run. Unity gains 10% more DMG and 20% DEF ignore, a largely unsaturated modifier.
  • M2
    Soaring Light and Cleaving Heavens ignore 40% DEF, and every Qingming Sword Force spent grants Culmination, so each Enlightened Mind state ends with a hugely buffed Soaring Light. From here, PEN Ratio and Puffer Electro are no longer optimal.
  • M4
    She starts with 1000 Decibels and her Veil Vulnerability cap rises sharply. Minor in most fights, but it stops her from being held back by enemies with very high Stun DMG Multipliers.
  • M6
    Adds Lantern Wish stacks: once enough are built, Return to Dust is replaced by Cleaving Heavens, and both get an extra 1500% ATK final hit. The total multiplier gain over a fight is enormous.

Upon entering the battlefield, gains 6 Qingming Sword Force. This effect can trigger once every 180s in Investigation Zone mode.

The Unity effect from Core Passive: Burning Clarity increases DMG dealt by an additional 10%, and they ignore 20% of the target's DEF.

Countless times, in the dead of night, she finds herself returning to that day... Steel cried out, the sword acknowledged its wielder, and a contract was forged.

Was it a blessing, or a curse?

...No one knows the answer. Yet from that day on, her fate became bound to the sword.

The max stack count of Bearer increases to 6, and Culmination can stack up to 9 times.

While in the Enlightened Mind state, each point of Qingming Sword Force consumed grants 1 stack of Culmination.

With 4 stacks of Lantern Wish, EX Special Attack: Enlightened Mind - Return to Dust is replaced with Ultimate: Cleaving Heavens. When this Ultimate: Cleaving Heavens is activated, it consumes 3 stacks of Lantern Wish.

The last hit of Enlightened Mind - Return to Dust and Ultimate: Cleaving Heavens deal 1,500% of ATK as additional Physical DMG.

Story

Details

Ye Shunguang is the Sword Keeper of Yunkui Summit's treasured Qingming Sword, a disciple of Yixuan, and the younger sister of Ye Shiyuan, as well as a swordswoman blessed with extraordinary talent. She enjoyed a happy childhood until the fall of the old capital, when her parents lost their lives rescuing others, bringing all her happiness to an abrupt end. From then on, she relied solely on her brother — up until Yixuan took them in, bringing them into Yunkui Summit. Later, she was chosen by the Qingming Sword, taking up the mantle and duty of Sword Keeper. Rumor has it that the Qingming Sword's favor is less a blessing and more a kind of curse. Though it gives its Sword Keeper Void Hunter level power, it extracts a harsh cost — the loss of one's memories and five senses. In order to subdue this side effect, Yixuan Shifu crafted a custom sword case for Ye Shunguang. It appears effective for the moment, but the true nature of the weapon is still shrouded in mystery.

When Ye Shunguang first took up the Qingming Sword, she was still just a child, suddenly burdened with responsibilities far beyond her age. She wasn't allowed to own toys, was constantly pushed to be mature, and made to undertake constant sword training... The weight of it all pressed down on her, and she simply had to accept it. After an emotional outburst, she once fled the sect and wandered across Failume Heights — where you appeared and handed her a small packet of osmanthus candy, offering a rare moment of warmth. Addition: her favorite pastry now is osmanthus cake, perhaps for this very reason.

The mayor will bestow each of them a unique title before their name.

This title not only commends and represents their irreplaceable and impressive feats, but also immortalizes the resolve unique to each Void Hunter.

As for Ye Shunguang, her title is the "Qingming Arbiter."

This symbolizes the fact that Ye Shunguang is no longer constrained by, nor is a victim of, the Qingming Sword, but rather its master and is able to harness its power. It not only cements the fact that Ye Shunguang holds dominion over the Qingming Sword, but also serves as a reminder to all that behind this honor lies an unrelentless and ongoing sacrifice.
