Best Cissia Build Guide

Written by Phạm Ngọc Bảo Châu ·

Playstyle Overview

Cissia is an Electric Attack Agent who plays as a versatile sub-DPS. She deals damage close to a main carry despite little field time, builds solid Daze and strongly buffs Electric teammates. While she holds Venom, the squad's Electric DMG ignores part of the enemy's DEF, and her Additional Ability gives the team +40% CRIT DMG. Her main damage comes from Corrode Bone, which triggers whenever Venom is spent.

You use EX Special Attack: Venomous Bite to gain Venom, then Basic Attack: Serpent's Kiss to dump it as Corrode Bone. Build CRIT alongside Energy Regen, though balancing the two is hard without her signature. She is an ideal partner for Seed, but only fits Electric Attacker teams.

Best W-Engines

Serpentine SeekerS1
Serpentine Seeker

ATK 713 · Energy Regen 60%

Her signature and the best choice for personal damage by a wide margin. It has an Energy Regen main stat for her Core Passive, +25% unconditional CRIT Rate and 28% DEF ignore on Electric DMG after spending Energy. The buff timer stops while Cissia isn't the active character, so it's very easy to maintain.
Bioengineered Venom ›

CRIT Rate increases by 25%. When the equipper consumes at least 20 Energy in a single instance, every 20 Energy consumed grants 3s of a buff: when dealing Electric DMG, ignore 28% of the target's DEF. Repeated triggers extend the duration, up to a maximum of 30s. When entering combat, gain 10s of this buff. While the equipper is not the active character, the duration no longer decreases.

Bellicose BlazeS1
Bellicose Blaze

ATK 713 · Energy Regen 60%

Orphie's signature, mostly used as a stat stick. It gives S-Rank-level Energy Regen plus an unconditional +20% CRIT Rate, which makes Cissia much easier to build.
Flame-Devouring Choir ›

Increases CRIT Rate by 20%. When the equipper triggers an Aftershock that deals Fire DMG, their attacks ignore 15% of the target's DEF for 8s. Can stack once every 3s, up to 2 stacks. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

*All stats shown are at Base level.

3
Drill Rig - Red AxisS5
Drill Rig - Red Axis

ATK 624 · Energy Regen 50%

A very strong A-Rank pick. It has Energy Regen, and its Electric Basic Attack DMG bonus covers most of her damage. She uses EX Specials often, so the bonus is easy to keep up. It competes with premium non-signature options.
Hell's Generator ›

When launching an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack, Electric DMG from Basic Attacks and Dash Attacks increases by 50% for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 15s.

*Stats shown are at Base level.

4
Cordis GerminaS1
Cordis Germina

ATK 713 · CRIT Rate 24%

One of the best personal damage options (Electric DMG, CRIT Rate and DEF ignore on Basic Attacks), but it lacks Energy Regen, which lowers the team's DEF ignore. It's best for a main-DPS Cissia. If Seed is on the team, give it to Seed instead.
Sprouting Core ›

Increases CRIT Rate by 15%. When the equipper deals DMG with a Basic Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's Electric DMG by 12.5% up to 2 stacks. Each stack lasts 40s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Can trigger once per use of a skill. At 2 stacks, the wearer's Basic Attack and Ultimate DMG ignore 20% of enemy DEF.

*Stats shown are at Base level.

5
Severed InnocenceS1
Severed Innocence

ATK 713 · CRIT DMG 48%

A stat stick with lots of CRIT DMG. It's usually behind the other options, but gets better when teammates provide plenty of CRIT Rate (e.g. an S5 Unfettered Game Ball).
Tranquil Blossom ›

CRIT DMG is increased by 30%. When the equipper lands a hit with a Basic Attack, Special Attack, or Aftershock, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's CRIT DMG by an additional 10%, stacking up to 3 times. The effect lasts for 30s, with each stack's duration calculated separately, and can only be triggered once per use of a skill. With all 3 stacks, the equipper's Electric DMG increases by 20%.

*Stats shown are at Base level.

6
Marcato DesireS5
Marcato Desire

ATK 594 · CRIT Rate 20%

An alternative A-Rank option. Its CRIT Rate main stat helps cover her CRIT needs, and it adds ATK when an EX Special or Chain Attack hits.
Get Everyone Fired Up ›

When an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack hits an enemy, the equipper's ATK increases by 6% for 8s. While the target is under an Attribute Anomaly, this effect is increased by an additional 6%.

2-piece:

Increases Basic Attack DMG by 15%.

4-piece:

Increases Basic Attack DMG by 20%.

When equipped by an Attack Character, using an EX Special Attack or Ultimate will further increase Basic Attack DMG by 20% for 25s.

Repeated triggers reset the duration.

2
Swing Jazz
2-pc ›
2-piece:

Energy Regen increases +20%

The standard set for most teams. Most of Cissia's damage is Basic Attack damage and she uses EX Specials constantly, so the effect is always up. 2-piece Swing Jazz (or Moonlight Lullaby) adds the Energy Regen needed to max her DEF ignore. Branch & Blade Song or Woodpecker Electro also work if their substats are better.
2
4
Astral Voice
4-pc ›
2-piece:

ATK +10%

4-piece:

Whenever any squad member enters the field using a Quick Assist, all squad members gain 1 stack of Astral, up to a maximum of 3 stacks, and lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Each stack of Astral increases the DMG dealt by the character entering the field using a Quick Assist by 8%. Only one of this effect can be active at a time in the same squad.

2
Swing Jazz
2-pc ›
2-piece:

Energy Regen increases +20%

The highest ceiling alongside Seed and Astra Yao or Sunna. Cissia triggers Quick Assists often, and it doesn't matter who wears the set as long as the team keeps Quick Assisting. Only use it if someone Quick Assists into Cissia. Otherwise, go Dawn's Bloom.

When equipped by an Attack Character, using an EX Special Attack or Ultimate will further increase Basic Attack DMG by 20% for 25s.

Repeated triggers reset the duration.

2
Hormone Punk
2-pc ›
2-piece:

ATK +10%

Swap the Energy 2-piece for Hormone Punk (or Astral Voice) for more ATK, since Corrode Bone's extra damage scales with ATK. Only do this if your Energy Regen is covered elsewhere.

Thunder Metal
4-pc ›
2-piece:

Electric DMG +10%

4-piece:

As long as an enemy in combat is Shocked, the equipper's ATK is increased by 28%.

Swing Jazz
2-pc ›
2-piece:

Energy Regen increases +20%

Gives a lot of combat ATK, but it only works in mono-Electric teams (e.g. with Seed and Trigger) or with routes and Bangboo that keep Shock up during Stun windows.

An Energy Regen Disc 6 is close to mandatory. Her Core Passive DEF ignore only grows when initial Energy Regen exceeds 1.4, and it needs about 3.68 (out of combat) to max out. More Energy also means more EX Specials and Venom. On Disc 4, take CRIT Rate if you're short (Corrode Bone itself gives up to +18%) and CRIT DMG once you're covered. On Disc 5, Electric DMG is usually better since her kit has no DMG bonus. CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG and ATK% are equally valuable as substats.

  1. Core Skill
  2. ›Basic Attack
  3. ›Special Attack
  4. ›Chain Attack
  5. ›Assist
  6. ›Dodge

Her Core Skill matters most since it sets the team's DEF ignore and Corrode Bone's bonus damage. Basic Attack comes next (Corrode Bone and Serpent's Kiss both count as Basic Attacks), then Special Attack, as her EX Special is her main Venom source and adds Daze. Chain Attack/Ultimate follow, and Assist and Dodge come last.

Best Teams for Cissia

Most Used Teams Right Now

Cissia's most used team in both Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault. Seed is her ideal partner. They share an element and both shred DEF, Cissia needs little field time so Seed can stay on-field, and the Energy Cissia spends fuels Seed's resources. Astra Yao keeps Quick Assists flowing, which makes Astral Voice shine.
The second most used team is a mono-Electric lineup where Trigger Stuns and raises the Stun DMG Multiplier. Mono-Electric teams are also where the Thunder Metal set becomes viable.

Seed Teams

Sunna is the other premium Support for Attacker teams. She gives more general DMG buffs and Daze than Astra Yao. Since Cissia builds so much Daze, a double-Attacker team with a Support still Stuns reliably.

Cissia as Main DPS

Norma is the best Stun partner when Cissia carries. She triggers extra Chain Attacks, each granting more Venom, which boosts both Daze and burst. This team has the highest average score among Cissia's Shiyu Defense teams.
Dialyn is always a good pick thanks to her Ultimate conversion and buffs, helping Cissia keep up Ether Veil: Cold-Blooded and her Venom. Cissia-carry teams become very competitive from M2 onward.

F2P Team

Anby Stuns and is an Electric Agent, which boosts Corrode Bone's Daze. Nicole's DEF shred stacks well with Cissia's, and she buffs the team and generates plenty of resources. At M6 she also adds CRIT Rate, a stat Cissia struggles to build.

Best Bangboo for Cissia

In mono-Electric teams, Plugboo is the main pick (needs 2+ Electric Agents). You can also use Mercury (needs 2 Defense Force members such as Seed and Trigger), Electroboo or Avocaboo.

In the F2P team, use Booressure for Energy (needs a Support such as Nicole). Sumoboo and Exploreboo also work.

Skills

Basic Attack: Tongue Flick

Press Basic to activate:

Launch up to four attacks forward, dealing Electric DMG.

When the 4th hit lands, gain 2 points of Venom. Hitting a Stunned enemy grants an additional 1 point of Venom.

Basic Attack: Serpent's Kiss

With Serpentine Shadow, hold Basic to launch:

Cissia leaps into the air and locks onto a target, then slams down, dealing Electric DMG to enemies in the area.

While locking on, continue to hold Basic and drag the Move to extend the lock-on duration and freely control the landing position.

For every 6 points of Venom gained, gain 1 stack of Serpentine Shadow, stacking up to 3 times.

Upon entering the battlefield, gain 1 stack of Serpentine Shadow.

Using this skill consumes 1 stack of Serpentine Shadow.

Upon hitting an enemy, all Venom is consumed to trigger Corrode Bone.

Upon activating this skill, a Quick Assist is triggered.

Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Corrode Bone

Deal Electric DMG to nearby enemies.

Each trigger increases CRIT Rate by 6% for 15s, stacking up to 3 times. Repeated triggers refresh the duration.

Mindscape Cinema

Which Mindscapes Are Worth It?

M2 is the best stopping point, since from here Cissia can carry as a main DPS. M1 is her strongest Mindscape, worth about as much team damage as her signature W-Engine. M4 and M6 keep adding Corrode Bone damage. M3 and M5 only add skill levels.

  • M1
She enters battle with 6 Venom, her Core Passive DEF ignore rises to 140%, the squad ignores 5% Electric RES and Corrode Bone ignores an extra 10%. The DEF ignore boost needs an Energy Regen W-Engine to reach full value.
  • M2
Chain Attacks and Ultimates that hit Stunned enemies grant 3 extra Venom, and Serpent's Kiss deals 35% more DMG. That can mean up to 9 extra Corrode Bones per Stun, so prioritize double Chain Attacks.
  • M4
EX Specials, Chain Attacks and Ultimates grant Decidedness stacks, which Serpent's Kiss spends for extra Corrode Bones (no Daze). You can bank them and unload at the start of a Stun.
  • M6
Each Corrode Bone grants a stack that is spent when teammates hit to trigger an extra Corrode Bone (at most every 3s, no Daze). This nearly doubles her Corrode Bone damage over a fight.
M1

Traveler and PreyRecommended

The Venom gained upon entering the battlefield increases to 6.

The DEF ignore from the Core Passive increases to 140% of its original value, and all squad members ignore 5% of the target's Electric RES.

Corrode Bone DMG ignores 10% of the target's Electric RES.

Scents, footsteps, the way someone's eyes shift... those are the "clues" that let me sort hunters from prey. I vanish before I'm hunted. I lower my head before I hunt.

That's how I stay alive.

"Home"? That's just something out of a storybook. The endless wild is my hunting cabin.

M2

Hunger and Hard TruthsRecommended

After a Chain Attack: Gang Operation or Ultimate: Ophidiophobia hits a Stunned enemy, gain an additional 3 Venom.

Basic Attack: Serpent's Kiss deals 35% increased DMG.

If I can eat my fill there, it's a good place. If someone gives me food, they're a good person. That's the easiest and most dependable rule in the world. And also, omelet with rice is divine. Even that last leftover bit on the spoon.

M3

Chains and a Warm Nest

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2

Justice? Order? That kind of righteous, aboveboard stuff makes me shaky. What I know are the rules of the shadows — betrayal, lies, bowing low if it keeps me breathing. I don't mind being used as a tool, as long as the pay is a full meal and a warm corner to curl up in.

M4

A Rogue's ResolveRecommended

When using an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate, gain 1 stack of Decidedness, stacking up to 3 times.

When using Basic Attack: Serpent's Kiss, consume all Decidedness. Each stack consumed triggers 1 special instance of Corrode Bone that does not consume Venom. This Corrode Bone does not cause Daze.

The collar around my neck is cold. The handcuffs are heavy. They remind me of the sins I can't wash away. But compared to those invisible rules and icy stares, this kind of restraint with a clear price tag actually puts me at ease... at least I know what it costs. And once I'm back in that little den with a couch and snacks, even the cold metal seems warm.

M5

False Evidence and Fangs

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2

Memories scorched by blinding light, crimes spelled out in black and white... those "marks" were once all that defined me. But things are different now. I've learned to read, and I've learned to recognize the smell of a lie. When that familiar scent of a scheme creeps in again, I won't just walk into the cage like an idiot. This time, I'll be the one leaving "marks" — with my teeth, and I won't hold back.

M6

Home and Sixth StreetRecommended

Each time Corrode Bone is triggered, gain 1 stack of Bone-Deep Corrosion.

When attacks from any squad member, other than Corrode Bone, hit an enemy, consume 1 stack of Bone-Deep Corrosion to trigger 1 special Corrode Bone. This instance of Corrode Bone cannot inflict Daze, and at most 1 stack of Bone-Deep Corrosion can be consumed every 3s.

Once there's something I want to hold onto more than just "staying alive," I really do turn stupid. If fate ever decides I have to die, that big, soft couch of yours better not have anyone else lying on it.

"Don't you dare forget me... or I'll bite you to death."

Story

Details

Cissia, a case specialist serving under the New Eridu Public Security Commissioner, is currently campaigning to become the new second-floor roommate at Random Play. More than the danger of the mission itself, what she fears most is a call from her superior. The professionalism she shows in her actions is far more dependable than how she looks or the way she talks. Relying only on instinct and her senses, she can still make the right call. She may claim to be a selfish, instinct-driven "bad guy," but the choices she makes often carry a faint glimmer of humanity beyond personal gain. She scoffs at order and justice, yet can become the sharpest blade in the hunt for the worst criminals. But whether it's the lies she tells to protect herself, the fangs she shows when she bites back, or that wild philosophy of "survive and profit," Cissia has turned them all into a shield to protect the few things she still has. No matter what past or shackles she carries, she has already decided to make her stand here.

Increase Trust to Close to unlock more

"Instinct" is the foundation Cissia relies on to survive, yet it has also become the force pulling her deeper into the vortex. She places too much trust in the signals she reads from scent, tracks, and subtle muscle movements, yet has never learned to spot the pitfalls buried in paperwork and systems of authority. Before her arrest, the last "legitimate" job Cissia took was transporting a batch of confidential supplies. The client offered generous pay and a simple route — an easy task for someone who knew the Outer Ring's back alleys like the back of her hand. As usual, her animal-like vigilance helped her slip through a few narrow patrol windows. What she didn't realize was that every evasive move was being logged as evidence of "suspicious behavior" and "counter-surveillance ability." When the explosion that swallowed everything erupted, she had already slipped into an abandoned pipe seconds earlier after sensing an unusual surge of heat. It saved her life — and cemented her identity as the "only surviving, highly suspicious arson suspect." In Public Security's files, her instincts and abilities were twisted into proof of a carefully planned crime. The interrogation wasn't meant to uncover the truth, but to carry out a cold procedure: blinding lights to break her tolerance for brightness, endless questioning to strip away her sense of time, and finally, when her body and mind were on the verge of collapse, a confession was pushed in front of her. Amid countless misfortunes, fortune finally showed her a trace of favor. Commissioner Severian uncovered the glaring flaws in Cissia's interrogation records. Recognizing her remarkable talent and fundamentally good nature, Severian personally recruited her as a "case specialist." From that moment on, the collar and handcuffs were no longer simple shackles. They marked a dangerous line between her and the system of order she neither understood nor trusted — one she had learned to use to her advantage.
