Playstyle Overview

Zhu Yuan is an Ether Attack DPS who deals most of her damage with shots that consume Enhanced Shotshells in Suppressive Mode and with Dash Attack: Overwhelming Firepower. Her Core Passive boosts these shots and doubles the bonus against Stunned enemies, so she bursts hardest during Stun windows. Her Additional Ability adds 30% CRIT Rate when the team has a Support or a faction mate.

Rotation: each EX Special Attack, Chain Attack and Ultimate loads 3 shells, then hold Basic Attack to fire them all. Build CRIT and ATK. She's accessible since lots of generic W-Engines work on her. On the other hand, she takes practice, and at high investment newer Ether DPS like Yixuan have overtaken her.

Best by a slight margin: a huge amount of CRIT Rate, and at 2 stacks her Basic Attacks and Ultimate ignore 20% DEF. The Electric DMG bonus is wasted on Zhu Yuan, but she makes excellent use of the DEF ignore.

Increases CRIT Rate by 15%. When the equipper deals DMG with a Basic Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's Electric DMG by 12.5% up to 2 stacks. Each stack lasts 40s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Can trigger once per use of a skill. At 2 stacks, the wearer's Basic Attack and Ultimate DMG ignore 20% of enemy DEF.

The Brimstone

The most used W-Engine on Zhu Yuan and nearly as strong as the top pick: Basic Attacks, Dash Attacks and Dodge Counters stack ATK. Each stack has its own timer and only one can be gained every 0.5s, so you need constant attacks to keep it maxed.

Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter, the equipper's ATK increases by 3.5% for 8s, stacking up to 8 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Her signature: an EX Special Attack grants 8 Charge stacks, and each Basic or Dash Attack dealing Ether DMG consumes one for +35% DMG, plus extra CRIT Rate. A few percent behind the two above, but still very strong and widely used.

Increases CRIT Rate by 15%. Launching an EX Special Attack grants the equipper 8 Charge stacks, up to a maximum of 8 stacks. Whenever the equipper's Basic Attack deals Ether DMG, consumes a Charge stack and increases the skill's DMG by 35%.

A reasonable A-Rank pick for CRIT DPS: it adds ATK when an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack hits, doubled against Anomaly-afflicted targets, so it suits teams with regular Anomaly application such as Nicole.

Get Everyone Fired Up ›

When an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack hits an enemy, the equipper's ATK increases by 6% for 8s. While the target is under an Attribute Anomaly, this effect is increased by an additional 6%.

A solid free-to-play pick for any Attack Agent: flat ATK% plus extra ATK after a Dodge Counter or Quick Assist, which is easy to trigger with a Support on the team.

Her Additional Ability adds 30% CRIT Rate after an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack or Ultimate, so 60–70% on the stat screen is enough to reach 90–100% in combat; with M6 Nicole, cap it at 55%. Beyond that, favor CRIT DMG over CRIT Rate, then ATK.

Dialyn is Zhu Yuan's best Stunner, outperforming even double-Support teams: her high Daze yields more Stuns, and Zhu Yuan can fit 2 Ultimates plus a Chain Attack into one window. Nicole shreds DEF, activates her Additional Ability and applies Ether Anomaly.

Ether Team

Qingyi shares her faction, Stuns quickly and raises the Stun DMG multiplier, which combines with Zhu Yuan's Core Passive for huge damage on Stunned enemies. Astra Yao is the most complete Support, with Quick Assists, healing and ATK, DMG and CRIT DMG buffs.

Generalist Team

The one Stun + one Support formula: Zhu Yuan deals extra damage to Stunned enemies, and any Support activates her Additional Ability. Lycaon can be swapped for Dialyn, Norma or Caesar, and Rina for Sunna or Nicole.

Double Support has long been one of the most effective ways to play Zhu Yuan: she stays on-field almost the whole fight, Nicole shreds DEF and boosts the team's Ether DMG, and Astra Yao amplifies damage and enables fast swaps.

F2P Team

A free team that easily inflicts Corruption, pairing well with Chaotic Metal. Nicole and Zhu Yuan activate each other's Additional Abilities and Nicole lowers enemy DEF; Anby takes the field to build Daze while Zhu Yuan recharges.

Best Bangboo for Zhu Yuan

Devilboo and Resonaboo suit teams with 2+ Ether Agents (Zhu Yuan plus Nicole or Astra Yao), letting their Chain Attacks build more Ether Anomaly. In the team with Lycaon and Rina, use Butler (needs two Victoria Housekeeping members).

Booressure (with a Support) and Sumoboo (with a Stun Agent) are general alternatives; Amillion works in the F2P team since Anby and Nicole are both Cunning Hares.

Basic Attack: Don't Move!

[Assault Mode] Press Basic to activate:

Unleash a flurry of martial arts, bullets, and Ether Buckshots in a series of up to 5 attacks, dealing Physical DMG and Ether DMG.

When the 4th or 5th hits strike an enemy, obtain 1 Enhanced Shotshell. A max of 1 can be obtained per activation of this Basic Attack.

While using this skill, drag the Move and press Basic to activate Dash Attack: Firepower Offensive and readjust to face the selected direction.

While under Assault Mode, hold Basic to switch to Suppressive Mode.

Basic Attack: Please Do Not Resist

[Suppressive Mode] Hold Basic to activate:

Unleash up to 3 Shotshell piercing attacks, dealing Physical DMG. If Zhu Yuan has Enhanced Shotshells upon firing, 1 Enhanced Shotshell will be consumed, dealing massive Ether DMG.

While using this skill, drag the Move to activate her Dash Attack: Overwhelming Firepower and readjust to face the selected direction.

While in Suppressive Mode, release Basic to return to Assault Mode.

M2 is the best place to stop if you're spending, and M1 is also a very strong upgrade. M4 and M6 keep adding a good chunk of damage. M3 and M5 only add skill levels, so they're not counted.

Chain Attacks/Ultimates grant Quick Reload: when she runs out of Enhanced Shotshells, she instantly reloads 6/9, letting her fire many more enhanced shots per Stun window.

Suppressive Mode gains Anti-Interrupt and 10% DMG reduction; each Enhanced Shotshell hit makes the target take 10% more Ether DMG from her enhanced shots (up to 5 stacks).

When Zhu Yuan activates a Chain Attack/Ultimate, she gains the Quick Reload effect. When Zhu Yuan has the Quick Reload effect and uses up all Enhanced Shotshells, the Quick Reload effect will be consumed to instantly gain 6/9 Enhanced Shotshells.

In Suppressive Mode, Zhu Yuan's Anti-Interrupt level is increased and DMG taken reduced by 10%. When Zhu Yuan hits an enemy with Enhanced Shotshells, the target takes 10% more Ether DMG from Basic Attack: Please Do Not Resist and Dash Attack: Overwhelming Firepower, stacking up to 5 times and lasting for 5s. Each shot adds one stack of this effect, and repeated triggers reset the duration.

Zhu Yuan is equipped with Ether bullets specially designed by Public Security, which cause irreversible corruption upon hitting the enemy. This is why Zhu Yuan always warns her enemies to surrender and stop resisting before she fires. It really is for their own health and safety...

A seasoned Public Security Officer excels at reading the battlefield, striking precisely and maximizing combat efficiency. Sometimes, one stern look is enough to make her enemies think twice about putting up a fight.

Expanded Energy Pack IIIRecommended

When Zhu Yuan consumes a total of 12 Enhanced Shotshells, she receives the Ether Afterglow effect, and the Energy cost of the next EX Special Attack is reduced by 30. Launching an EX Special Attack will consume Ether Afterglow and shoot an additional 4-bullet Ether Buckshot. Each extra bullet deals DMG equal to 220% of Zhu Yuan's ATK.

Zhu Yuan often worries about her gear's remaining battery, getting nervous when the power dips into the red zone and consciously saving power. Public Security finally equipped her with an energy pack that offered both high capacity and long-lasting endurance.

Agent Profile: Zhu Yuan

Zhu Yuan, an exceptional officer at Public Security, is a highly skilled individual expected to become the next commissioner. She currently leads the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team at the Janus Precinct within the Metropolitan Order Department. Her team members include Qingyi, Seth, and [redacted].

Note: For documents with higher security levels within the Public Security system, further investigation is required; scheduling priority - low.

Zhu Yuan possesses excellent skills in criminal investigation, combat, and self-management (including working overtime). She has no unresolved cases on record.

Suggestion: Approaching Zhu Yuan is an ill-advised decision that may compromise your cover. Always remember your true identity as a Proxy.

Increase Trust to Close to unlock more

She has a tendency to be a perfectionist and exhibits a strong obsession with "neatness" and "perfection," which may be considered her only weakness (?). Officer Qingyi, her mentor in life and subordinate at work, often remarks that Zhu Yuan's perfectionism complex will worsen unless someone can talk her out of it. However, due to her high standards for herself, she has gained ample experience and skills to lead the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team and attract exceptional talents.

Zhu Yuan seems to have a passion for gardening. She is currently growing a tomato plant in her office, which is often pilfered by a raccoon family residing near the Public Security office.
