Best Velina Airgid Build Guide

Written by Phạm Ngọc Bảo Châu ·

Playstyle Overview

Velina Airgid is the first Wind Anomaly Agent and the only reliable source of Windswept. While an enemy is Windswept, your teammates' Anomalies trigger Vortex instead of Disorder, so she's very valuable for fast-building Anomaly DPS like Aria, Jane, Promeia and Burnice.

Velina mostly stays off-field: her EX Special Attacks build Windbloom, and at 90 points you hold the button for Eye of the Storm, summoning a Sweeping Cyclone that builds heavy Daze and Wind Anomaly. Her Core Passive converts initial Energy Regen above 1.2 into DMG and Anomaly Mastery. On the downside, she doesn't add much beyond Windswept, and since she locks out Disorders she's a poor fit for Yanagi, Alice and Miyabi.

Best W-Engines

1
Joyau DoreS1
Joyau Dore

ATK 713 · Energy Regen 60%

A cut above the rest: the Energy Regen main stat feeds her Core Passive, it boosts Vortex and Windswept DMG, and at 2 stacks it gives the whole squad Anomaly Proficiency so your allies' Vortexes hit harder.
Flawless Etiquette ›

The equipper's Anomaly Proficiency increases by 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110. When the equipper's EX Special Attack deals Wind DMG, the DMG dealt by their Vortex and Windswept increases by 7% / 8% / 9% / 10% / 11% for 40s, stacking up to 2 times. Repeated triggers reset the duration. This effect can trigger once per skill use. At 2 stacks, all squad members gain 60 / 69 / 78 / 87 / 96 Anomaly Proficiency. Only one instance of this effect can exist in the same squad.

2
Serpentine SeekerS1
Serpentine Seeker

ATK 713 · Energy Regen 60%

Stands in for any S-Rank W-Engine with an Energy Regen main stat (Bellicose Blaze, Metanukimorphosis...). The effect does nothing, but her Core Passive turns the Energy Regen into DMG and Anomaly Mastery, and it fuels more EX Special Attacks; usually the best pick after her signature.
Bioengineered Venom ›

CRIT Rate increases by 25%. When the equipper consumes at least 20 Energy in a single instance, every 20 Energy consumed grants 3s of a buff: when dealing Electric DMG, ignore 28% of the target's DEF. Repeated triggers extend the duration, up to a maximum of 30s. When entering combat, gain 10s of this buff. While the equipper is not the active character, the duration no longer decreases.

3
Flamemaker ShakerS1
Flamemaker Shaker

ATK 713 · ATK% 30%

It can score as well as Energy Regen W-Engines if you keep its buff up, but it only triggers on EX Special Attacks or Assists and its Energy Regen doesn't count for her Core Passive, so results are inconsistent.
Fuel on the Rocks ›

While off-field, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.6/s. When hitting an enemy with an EX Special Attack or Assist Attack, the equipper's DMG increases by 3.5%, stacking up to 10 times and lasting for 6s. This effect can trigger once every 0.3s. While off-field, the stack effect is doubled. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Upon obtaining the DMG increase effect, if the number of current stacks is greater than or equal to 5, then the equipper's Anomaly Proficiency increases by 50. This Anomaly Proficiency increase does not stack and lasts for 6s.

4
Kaboom the CannonS1
Kaboom the Cannon

ATK 624 · Energy Regen 50%

Stands in for any A-Rank Energy Regen W-Engine: a pure stat stick, slightly behind the S-Rank equivalents but comparable to A-Rank Anomaly W-Engines.
Stampede Accident ›

When any friendly unit in the squad attacks and hits an enemy, all squad member’s ATK increases by 2.5%/2.8%/3.2%/2.6%/4% for 8s, stacking up to 4 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately, and each friendly unit can provide 1 stack of the buff. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

5
Fusion CompilerS1
Fusion Compiler

ATK 684 · PEN Ratio 24%

An Anomaly W-Engine option: 12% ATK and stacking Anomaly Proficiency on EX Special Attacks, but no Energy Regen for her Core Passive.
Data Flood ›

Increases ATK by 12%.

When using a Special Attack or EX Special Attack, the equipper’s Anomaly Proficiency is increased by 25 for 8s, stacking up to 3 times.

The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Your first goal is 2.88 Energy Regen to max her Core Passive (+35% DMG, +84 Anomaly Mastery), via Disc 6, the 2-piece set and the W-Engine. Vortex doesn't scale with Velina's stats, but her Windswept and Ablooms do, so Anomaly Proficiency and ATK% are roughly equal. The three Disc 5 options differ only marginally, so favor the piece with better substats.

Skill Priority

  1. Core Skill
  2. ›Special Attack
  3. ›Chain Attack
  4. ›Assist
  5. ›Basic Attack
  6. ›Dodge

Her Core Skill boosts her Vortex damage and key effects, so level it first. Special Attack is the heart of her kit (EX Special Attacks and Sweeping Cyclones). Next come her Ultimate, a big source of Wind Anomaly, and Assist, since her Assist Follow-Up builds Anomaly very quickly. Basic Attack and Dodge are rarely used.

Best Teams for Velina Airgid

Most Used Teams Right Now

Velina's most used team in both Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault. Jane's Vortexes count as Assault DMG and can crit thanks to her Core Passive; Windswept's 30s duration also keeps Anomalies from dropping despite Remielle's long animations.
The second most used team in Deadly Assault. Aria has the highest Anomaly buildup in the game, so Vortexes make up a large share of her damage; with Velina she can match or beat teams using Nangong Yu.

Yuzuha Teams

Velina summons cyclones and lowers RES to set up Promeia, whose high Anomaly buildup benefits from Vortex and who gains resources from both Vortex and Abloom. Yuzuha adds the most value to Wind teams, with scores up to 20% higher than with other Supports.
Jane is the main DPS with Vortexes that can crit, while Yuzuha buffs and adds Anomaly buildup to keep Vortexes flowing.

Other Remielle Teams

The second most used team in Shiyu Defense with the highest average score: Promeia's high Anomaly buildup earns plenty of Vortexes and resources from Velina's Ablooms.
Velina lets Burnice spam her enhanced Basic Attack for many more Afterburns, and Burnice's Chain Attack builds a lot of Anomaly to trigger Vortexes.

F2P Team

Velina is the sole DPS, with Nicole providing buffs and DEF shred and Anby handling Stun.

Best Bangboo for Velina Airgid

Ultra Jake shares Velina's External Strategy Department faction, so its Additional Ability is always active, making it the top pick. In the F2P team with Nicole, use Knightboo (needs a Support Agent). Booressure, Avocaboo and Brawlerboo are alternatives.

Mindscape Cinema

Which Mindscapes Are Worth It?

M1 is the most recommended Mindscape (roughly 10–20% depending on team), while M2 is the biggest single jump (about 25%) and a good target if you want to invest more. M4 barely matters (about 3%), whereas M6 adds roughly 15–25%.

  • M1
Sweeping Cyclones deal 20% more Daze, making 3-Stun routes easier in many Deadly Assault fights; Velina's Vortexes ignore 20% All-Attribute RES and the team's Windswept ignores 20% Wind RES.
  • M2
Triggering Windswept also grants Windbite, producing many more Sweeping Cyclones; Chromatic-Tinted cyclones also build that attribute's Anomaly, and her Additional Ability's Windswept/Vortex DMG bonus rises by 15%.
  • M4
+15% ATK for 40s after an EX Special Attack, easy to keep up but a very small gain; it mainly makes Ablooms off her Windswept slightly stronger.
  • M6
Refunds Windbite when it's spent on a Sweeping Cyclone, so a cyclone is up almost constantly, adds 20% Wind Anomaly Buildup and up to 40% more DMG on her re-applied Windswept.
M1

Orderly EleganceRecommended

Sweeping Cyclone from Additional Ability: Tea Party Etiquette deals an additional 20% Daze.
When Velina triggers Vortex, she ignores 20% of the target's All-Attribute RES.
When squad members deal Windswept DMG, 20% of the target's Wind RES is ignored.

Every word and gesture is placed precisely where it belongs.

"Elegance is simply the most natural expression of order in motion."

M2

Saturation ProjectRecommended

When Velina triggers Windswept, she can also gain 1 point of Windbite. This effect can trigger once every 5s.
After Sweeping Cyclone triggers the Chromatic Tint effect, it can accumulate the corresponding attribute's Anomaly Buildup. The buildup accumulated by this attack is excluded from Anomaly DMG calculations.
The DMG increase effects of Velina's Windswept and Vortex from Additional Ability: Tea Party Etiquette are further increased by 15%.

She anticipates every possibility, accounts for every variable, and makes backup plans for things going wrong.
She never relies on chance. Every ending is calculated.
Even if the situation veers off course for a moment, it only leads onto another path she has already prepared for.
"Sigh, so it's come to this... Good thing I'm not entirely unprepared."

M3

Conquest by Etiquette

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2

No need to force submission through strength, nor rely on emotion or intimidation.
A graceful response and a carefully measured compromise are enough...
Before anyone realizes it, the situation has already been steered toward destined conquest.
"Is etiquette simply violence in disguise?"
"Or is etiquette the more refined form of violence?"

M4

Tea Party TribunalRecommended

When Velina uses an EX Special Attack, her ATK increases by 15% for 40s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

In the midst of laughter and conversation, the scales have already tipped.
The tea has yet to go cold, yet the verdict is already sold.
"If something's bothering me, I'll simply deal with it and move on. And if someone's bothering me, heh..."

M5

Death Witch

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2

"Her footsteps herald judgment!"
"Her invitation is your funeral!"
The silver-haired witch sits calmly beneath the theater of the Bangboo Kingdom, listening to the tiny performers hurl accusations at her with absolute conviction. She gently waves her ornate fan, smiling without a word.

M6

Chief AngelRecommended

When Velina consumes 2 points of Windbite to increase the DMG Multiplier of Vortex, she gains 1 point of Windbite. This effect can trigger once every 6s.
When Velina hits an enemy suffering a Wind Attribute Anomaly, the Wind Attribute Anomaly Buildup she inflicts increases by 20%.
When Velina inflicts Windswept on an enemy already affected by Windswept, the new Windswept's DMG increases based on the remaining duration of the previous. Each remaining second increases the DMG by 2.5%, up to a maximum increase of 40%.

"There is no need to ask an angel's name. She hides within rumors, behind reprimands, and within the fearful letters requesting aid you deliver with shaking hands."

Story

Agent Profile: Tsukishiro

Velina, the Administrative Director of the External Strategy Department, oversees cooperation and diplomacy between Roscaelifer and New Eridu.
As a descendant of the prestigious Airgid family, Velina inherited a strict and meticulous upbringing. Renowned for her nearly flawless efficiency and exceptional ability to keep any situation under control, she is the dependable adult whom Chief Technician Norma describes as someone capable of "handling meetings, paperwork, and troublesome people."
She is sharp and efficient in her work, meticulous, and always gentle and composed when dealing with others. Beneath her elegant, effortless smile lies an intensity that is impossible to ignore. No matter how troublesome the diplomatic affair or absurd the disaster may be, Velina can resolve it with ease. However, the price of seeking her help is not always one the requester can afford. Velina has a particular fondness for all kinds of black tea and often invites friends to tea parties during her spare time.
Please note: Any tea party invitation sent by Velina in her capacity as Administrative Director should never be taken lightly. They are rarely mere leisure. More often, they serve as the perfect setting for her to negotiate situations and quietly steer events toward her desired outcome.

Increase Trust to Close to unlock more

As the governing body of the Marcel Group, the External Strategy Department is responsible for handling Bangboo retirement approvals. Because of this, Velina is known among Bangboo citizens as the legendary "Death Witch" — the tea party host whose very presence sends chills through their circuits.
In reality, though, Velina is none other than the "Chief Angel" famed throughout Bangboo society. Yet she has no issue with her infamy. The title of witch makes many Bangboo-related matters easier to handle, and rather than being worshipped as an angel, she is more comfortable acting as their quiet protector.
Velina also seems unexpectedly awkward with certain aspects of daily life, particularly when it comes to raising plants or animals. She's even earned the title of "Serial Plant Killer."
Suggestion: Perhaps this could serve as an effective way to grow closer to her.

Cooperation Notes:

Wise
Belle... Even if you've figured out her weakness, don't go getting any ideas... Taking her back to the External Strategy Department that night caused a huge scene.

Belle
Velina deals with all kinds of people every day, yet she still can't get used to Nitro-Fuel... That's really surprising!
