Best Soukaku Build Guide

Written by Phạm Ngọc Bảo Châu ·

Playstyle Overview

Soukaku is an A-Rank Ice Support you can get for free from Shiyu Defense. When she launches Fly the Flag, she gains a huge flat ATK buff (up to 1000 when consuming 3 Vortex stacks) and passes it to the teammate who enters via Quick Assist or Chain Attack. If the squad has another Ice or Section 6 Agent, a Vortex-consuming Fly the Flag also gives the team 20% Ice DMG.

Rotation: build Vortex with EX Special Attacks, Chain Attacks or her Ultimate, then hold Special to plant the flag. Stack ATK and get enough Energy. She's great in Ice teams with Miyabi or Ellen. The downsides: the buff only goes to one Agent, her animations are slow, and there's not much reason to use her outside Ice teams.

Bashful DemonS5
Bashful Demon

ATK 624 · ATK% 25%

Her signature and the best fit for her rotation. Soukaku uses EX Special Attacks constantly to build Vortex, stacking a team-wide ATK buff each time, plus 15% Ice DMG for herself. It has no Energy Regen, so you may want an Energy Regen Disc 6.
Visage of Greed ›

Increases Ice DMG by 15%. When launching an EX Special Attack, all squad members' ATK increases by 2% for 12s, stacking up to 4 times. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

2
Weeping CradleS1
Weeping Cradle

ATK 684 · PEN 9.6%

Rina's signature and one of the strongest damage amplifiers for Supports, with off-field Energy Regen. PEN Ratio isn't an ideal Support stat, but the passive more than makes up for it.
Punishment ›

While off-field, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.6/s. Attacks from the equipper enhances the squad's DMG against a struck target by10% for 3s. During this period, this effect is further increased by 1.7% every 0.5s, up to a maximum additional increase of 10.2%. Repeated triggers only refreshes its duration without refreshing the DMG increase effect. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

3
Kaboom the CannonS5
Kaboom the Cannon

ATK 624 · Energy Regen 50%

The best generic Support W-Engine and the most used on Soukaku: an Energy Regen main stat and a squad-wide ATK buff that's up nearly all the time. With it, Disorder teams can run an Anomaly Mastery Disc 6 and still have enough Energy.
Stampede Accident ›

When any friendly unit in the squad attacks and hits an enemy, all squad member’s ATK increases by 2.5%/2.8%/3.2%/2.6%/4% for 8s, stacking up to 4 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately, and each friendly unit can provide 1 stack of the buff. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

4
Slice of TimeS5
Slice of Time

ATK 594 · PEN Ratio 20%

A free generic Support option that gives extra Decibels and Energy. Swap to Bashful Demon or Kaboom the Cannon once you have them.
Say Cheese ›

Any squad members' Dodge Counter, EX Special Attack, Assist Attack, or Chain Attack respectively generates 20/25/30/35 more Decibels and generates 0.7 Energy for the equipper. This effect can trigger once every 12s. The cooldown for each type of attack is independent of others. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

5
[Reverb] Mark IIS5
[Reverb] Mark II

ATK 475 · Energy Regen 40%

A free-to-play pick with Energy Regen. [Reverb] Mark III (squad ATK after a Chain Attack/Ultimate) is a comparable free option.
Roaring Waves ›

Launching an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack increases all squad members' Anomaly Mastery and Anomaly Proficiency by 10 for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

Unfettered Game BallS5
Unfettered Game Ball

ATK 594 · Energy Regen 50%

Grants the squad CRIT Rate when triggering an Attribute Counter, but it's locked behind the premium Battle Pass and weaker than the options above.
Game Start! ›

Whenever the equipper's attack triggers an Attribute Counter effect, all squad members' CRIT Rate increases by 12% for 12s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

Her Core Passive buff scales off Soukaku's initial ATK, so your first goal is about 2500–2777 ATK (depending on Core Skill level) to push the buff to 1000. Energy lets her cast EX Special Attacks regularly to build Vortex. Past that point, CRIT and Ice DMG only raise her own damage, which matters most at M6.

Level Core Skill first, since the ATK Soukaku passes on grows with its level (and the ATK target drops). Special Attack is the skill she uses most, then Chain Attack/Ultimate, which deal decent damage; you don't need the rest.

Best Teams for Soukaku

Most Used Teams Right Now

Soukaku's most used team in Shiyu Defense: she boosts Ice DMG, hands her ATK buff to Miyabi and adds Ice Anomaly buildup, while Yuzuha adds further team buffs.
Soukaku's most used team in Deadly Assault: Lycaon Stuns and lowers Ice RES, which stacks with Soukaku's Ice DMG buff for a strong mono-Ice team.

Disorder Team

Soukaku boosts Miyabi's Ice DMG so her Frostburn hits hard; the third slot can be any Anomaly Agent to trigger Disorder, and Yanagi is the natural pick as a fellow Section 6 member.

Ice Teams

Between them, Soukaku and Lighter give Ellen almost all the Ice DMG bonus she needs. You can swap Ellen for Hugo, or Lighter for Lycaon or Qingyi to raise the Stun DMG multiplier.
A very F2P-friendly mono-Ice team: Soukaku alone activates both Ellen's and Lycaon's Additional Abilities while adding Ice DMG and ATK, and Lycaon shreds even more Ice RES.

Best Bangboo for Soukaku

In the Disorder team with Miyabi and Yanagi, use Agent Gulliver (needs two Section 6 members); Sharkboo and Penguinboo are the alternatives.

In the Ice team with Ellen, Sharkboo is the main pick (with 2+ Ice Agents its Chain Attack builds far more Anomaly), with Bagboo or Penguinboo as replacements.

Mindscape Cinema

Which Mindscapes Are Worth It?

M1 and M4 are the key upgrades: longer buffs and Ice RES shred for mono-Ice teams. M6 greatly raises her personal damage. M3 and M5 only add skill levels, so they're not counted.

  • M1
Her Core Passive ATK buff and Additional Ability Ice DMG buff last 8s longer, so uptime gets much easier and she doesn't have to plant the flag as often.
  • M2
Basic Attacks, Dash Attacks, Dodge Counters and Quick Assists gain a 15% chance to grant Vortex; once full, each extra stack becomes 1.2 Energy.
  • M4
Fly the Flag lowers the target's Ice RES by 10% for 8s, which is especially valuable in mono-Ice teams.
  • M6
Frosted Banner gives 12 enhanced Basic/Dash Attacks and raises their damage by 45%. From here, building more CRIT Rate pays off for her own damage.
M1

Uplifting CurrentRecommended

When Soukaku triggers Core Passive: Blade Banner or Additional Ability: Group Set Meal, the buff duration is increased by 8s.

When charged, the special charging module can generate a wind current of Ether energy to charge surrounding Ether devices.
To Soukaku, it's just like having a buffet with friends.
"Guys~ It's all-you-can-eat time!"

M2

Experimental Charging ModuleRecommended

When Soukaku's Basic Attack, Dash Attack, Dodge Counter, or Quick Assist hits an enemy, there's a 15% chance she gains 1 stack of Vortex, triggering up to once per second.

When Vortex reaches max stacks, any additional stacks grant Soukaku 1.2 Energy instead.

A charging module is able to continuously accumulate energy during battle.
Therefore, it is regarded as an era-defining conceptual tactical weapon by the R&D department.
But for Soukaku, fully charging it simply means it's time to eat.

M3

Attendance Meal Allowance

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2

The best way to motivate Soukaku to train harder is simple: just increase her attendance meal allowance.

M4

HypothermiaRecommended

If an enemy is hit by Fly the Flag, the target's Ice RES is reduced by 10% for 8s.

The custom-made weapon Oni Banner features a powerful built-in cooling system. Its Ether-infused catalyst generates cold air, dealing significant DMG to enemies it hits.

M5

Late-Night Snacks

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2

To further incentivize Soukaku to train is simple: just add a late-night snack top of the attendance meal allowance.

M6

Northern WindRecommended

While in the Frosted Banner state, the number of usable enhanced Basic Attacks and enhanced Dash Attacks are increased to 12, and also deal 45% more DMG.

Unlocking the safety device within the blade banner allows it to operate at full capacity. It's not just for combat... it's also handy for cooling down a meal.

"I'm happy as long as I can always eat my fill~"

"Glutton" - the name Soukaku's been called the most.

Few people know her full nickname is: The cute little one who always gobbles down everything she can and is super happy when full but can't reed or rite. (Note: This was written by Soukaku herself)

Story

Agent Profile: Soukaku

Soukaku is a member of Hollow Special Operations Section 6 and currently under the guardianship of Section 6's Deputy Chief, Tsukishiro Yanagi.

Soukaku's birth records cannot be found in either the HIA archives or the New Eridu Citizen Verification Profiles. Her records only date back to when she started living with Tsukishiro Yanagi.

There are also no records of her schooling. According to supplementary information, Soukaku is currently homeschooled.

Soukaku is naive, innocent, and carefree, but she possesses an uncharacteristic obsession with food. Please be careful not to let Soukaku become too hungry.

At the same time, please do not let Soukaku see food being wasted. This is unacceptable behavior to Soukaku. Deduction: Soukaku has experienced famine before.

Soukaku's understanding of city life and human society is limited, and her view of life and death differs from most people.

Usually, Soukaku is willing to believe anything other people say, but that doesn't mean she can't tell when something is a lie.

In fact, prior data shows that unless one has the ability to run and hide on par with Section 6, it would be in one's best interest to avoid lying to Soukaku.

Apart from her legal guardian Tsukishiro Yanagi, Soukaku appears to have another family member whom she refers to as "sister." No information regarding this individual was found in any New Eridu citizen records.

Through cross-referencing records including the timeline on Tsukishiro Yanagi and Soukaku's records, it can be confirmed that Tsukishiro Yanagi was awarded for her outstanding contribution in a military operation against the oni.

Deduction: Tsukishiro Yanagi has more information on the sister of Soukaku.

Cooperation Notes:

Belle

So many "avoid doing this" and "don't do thats"... It makes it look like Soukaku's difficult to get along with, but she's a super cute and sweet kid!

Wise

That's probably because we've always avoided the things Fairy warns us about... At least, I won't be taking the risk and trying anything.

Ghi Chú Hợp Tác

Belle
